In general terms, sleep apnea is a condition whereby the patient does not get enough oxygen while they sleep. This may be cause by any number of physiologic and neurologic conditions. Mild to moderate sleep apnea can often be successfully treated with either an oral appliance, or CPAP.

This improves breathing and reduces snoring and sleep apnea. However, coverage is never automatic; to qualify, you generally must have an official Obstructive Sleep Apnea diagnosis backed by a clinical sleep study, a prescription from a medical doctor, and—specifically for Medicare—a provider enrolled as an approved DME supplier. ApneaRx can be fit to your teeth in the comfort of your home in under 10 minutes using a 'Boil and Bite' process. The device includes step-by-step instructions that further explain the process. In addition, we have provided video instructions on our website. Please read all of the instructions prior to proceeding with this process. Your medical professional may also help you fit the ApneaRx if you find it necessary.

To begin using the device we suggest you wear it at the factory setting of 3mm for three to five days for several hours. This gives your body time to acclimate to having it in your mouth. Then wear it at night and when you wake up simply take it out. After 4-6 days most people sleep through the night successfully. If the patient is not feeling they are receiving a better nights rest or is still snoring then the setting should be advanced to 4mm then to 5mm and greater as needed. The idea is to increase the settings until the patient finds a setting that provides a quality nights rest. Each setting should be worn a minimum of three to five nights prior to re-adjusting. Most patients wear the device at a setting of either 3mm, or 4mm.

Typically, the adjustment period takes about 3-5 nights of consistent use. It is perfectly normal for your jaw, teeth and gums to feel moderately sore and fatigued at first. This discomfort is much like getting braces, or a retainer for the first time. However, it is not normal to experience severe, sharp or ongoing pain. If this occurs please discontinue use and consult your medical professional.

Yes! ApneaRx lets you breathe completely naturally, through your mouth and nose. We recommend you do not buy any device that restricts breathing through your mouth or nose.

Clean ApneaRx regularly with a toothbrush and toothpaste. An ultrasonic cleaner is best.

Store your cleaned ApneaRx in the provided case in a cool dry place. Always ensure the device is dry prior to placing it in the case. This ensures that it will retain its shape and prevent accidental damage.

Each ApneaRx undergoes normal wear and tear through the course of use. We recommend replacing the unit every 6-12 months. Some individuals grind their teeth (bruxism), more than others and therefore may need to replace it more often.

We do not recommend ApneaRx based on this pathology and advise users to consult their dentist.

Individuals who have had implants within the last 12 months are not typically candidates for ApneaRx. Implants that have had 12 months or longer to ossify are not an issue and ApneaRx may be worn.

ApneaRx is not recommended for patients that are currently undergoing orthodontic treatment. We would ask that you consult your orthodontist before purchasing, or using ApnearRx.

While the ApneaRx is not recommended for patients who have been diagnosed with TMJ, it does not cause TMJ. Unlike other products that lock your jaw into a setting, ApneaRx's design provides micro calibration to insure against TMJ. If your jaw feels uncomfortable, just reduce the advancement of ApneaRx until you are more comfortable. It pain continues, discontinue use immediately and contact your health care professional.
